Unfortunately for the UKIP candidate the hustings tend to be in Aberdeen making it hard for him to attend. Which hustings has he been invited to but not attended?

I wouldn't mind - its a long time since I've been up that way. There's some nice B&Bs in Murrayfield

What were the crowd figures for the N.F. at the Lidl's do? I reckon by the pictures there may have been 20-25 National Front and about 200 Anti-Fa and 50 furry boot polis. Any neutral observers got a head count?

Am I correct in thinking that part of Donside lies withing Gordon constituency?
What will be a good result for each of the four main parties?

What will be a good result for each of the four main parties? I'm not telling you. What would be the worst results for the 4 main parties, that's different. Worst scenario for SNP - to lose. Worst Scenario for Labour - not to make major inroads into the Nats support, so 35% or under not good enough. The Tories and LibDem's will suffer badly if they are are beaten by UKIP or alternatively lose their deposit.

I noticed a certain Callum McCraig ramping up attacks on Ross over the last week. Does the SNP know something that the others don't? The Nats deputy leader on the council has joined Callum in attacking Ross and the Conservatives tonight, we won't get dragged in to a mud slinging match we have a positive message and we will keep being upbeat. I think upbeat is a good word to describe Ross. I met him this weekend in Stirling and he's a great guy - I can't imagine people making personal attacks on him will work as a strategy.

Have been watching some of the interviews / debates.
Mark McDonald does not seem at all likeable, and sometimes seems to struggle with points raised by the others The Labour guy flaps and flounders and seems a bit hopeless generally Ross whateverhisnameis seems very intelligent and likeable, but I think needs to get stuck in a bit more Christine Jardine seems like a good candidate, but can come across a bit abrasively

I would agree with Fraser, the SNP/Labour/LD can get pretty nasty with each other in Aberdeen.
A lot of the Labour people I follow on Twitter are switching to a 'Look at all the resources the SNP are expending!' line.
Seems kind of obvious to me, if they lose the seat then the entire media narrative around them will only get more negative. Historic majority to minority in about 2 years!
If anything why didn't Labour choose a better candidate and really throw everything at it?

A few very interesting days on the doors. Something is definitely up with the Nat vote with the numbers of undecideds dropping markedly and Lab vote holding up well in key areas. The feeling is very positive within the Lab camp with a definite swing on but a mystery by just how much.

Because if they threw everything at it and lost it would be harmful to the party, you can usually tell a winnable seat by those who apply to go through the selection process. Could be Labour have chosen the best candidate. Look at the horrific infighting in the 20 mile long queue to get the Falkirk nomination.

"Conservatives have overtaken Labour to seize second spot in the Evening Express’ latest Donside by-election survey. The snapshot of more than 100 Donside voters gives a hint at what the outcome of the by-election in one week’s time could be. All three Evening Express surveys have showed that SNP candidate Mark McDonald was at the head of the pack. This time he had 37% of the votes. Conservative Ross Thomson was in second with 21%, while Labour’s Willie Young had 10%. UKIP’s Otto Inglis and Lib Dem Christine Jardine tied in fourth with 7% each." So it's got a margin of error of what, 10%?
