I am sure the voters won't see it that way... People want to know that they will be looked after.. they want a candidate that will stand up for them.. even if it might not be in the Parties interest. I have heard a lot from voters that they feel candidates are hiding behind a consultation that no one has any faith in. Especially when reported of officers having agreed recommendations with councillors. The whole process to the public appears to be a sham.. Aren't the voters used to stitched-up consultations yet. Round here councillors( or someone in government under Labour) makes a final decision( but doesn't call it that) then has a consultation (which they don't even bother to read the responses to) and then makes the original decision finally final.

There I was all prepared to book my ticket to Aberdeen only to find the UKIP candidate is excluded. So I won't be attending or sharing. My reading of election regulations is that if there is a hustings, and only some candidates are invited, then the cost of said meeting should be split and appear in the election expenses for those candidates who attend.

Ah well, that saves the both of you the train fare to Aberdeen I didn't say it was a train ticket - flying is the obvious option don't you agree. No flights from Edinburgh to Aberdeen - maybe that's why your candidate seems to be having trouble getting there

I can't account for anyones travel arrangements but my own. I can, however, assure you Mr Inglis has been campaigning in Aberdeen.

Oh yes, SNP mostly attacking Willie Young personally and focusing on ultra local issues like possible proposals to merge primary schools with rolls at 80% and falling. Labour not actually campaigning, just identifying and motivating their vote. Conservatives doing the same on a lesser level. anyone making a prediction yet? UKIP will get ~5% and I'll have to read more rubbish from Farage about how they're going to win MSP/MEP/MPs in Scotland. Oh yes.. the REAL party for Scottish independence has arrived.Labour will get closer. People are beginning to see through Alex Salmond, his unhealthy obsession with a separatist agenda that is stopping us from focusing on creating jobs and growth. The SNP will win, proving that the Scottish Government maintains the overwhelming support from the 'people of Scotland' for our legislative agenda.. as together we take Scotland forward. The Lib Dems have an excellent record in government, bringing the poorest out of tax altogether and providing the firm base we need to secure our economic recovery. A pity that those foolish voters always punish governing parties.. There may have been more candidates.. but no one will notice.

The SNP vote will be down, but not by enough to be in any danger c.46% The Labour vote will be a bit up but not by enough to threaten c.33% The Conservative vote will creep up but not by enough for anyone to notice c.9% The Lib Dem vote will continue to fall and it will be touch and go if they keep their deposit c.5% National coverage will get UKIP into 5th place, but they won't keep their deposit c.3% They will try to sell this as making progress but from not standing any vote is progress The Greens will beat the rest of the also rans, but nobody will care c.2% The SCP could come next c.1% The SDA will prove there's no real point to their existence cx.0.5% The knuckledraggers will hopefully come last c.0.5%

And those numbers can be arrived at with a sample size of just 126. The raw figures being 45 SNP/15 Con/13 Lab/11 UKIP/6 LD, leaving 36 don't knows presumably.

SDL protest outside Lidl this weekend, Sunday 1pm. Wonder if the NF or any other Candidate will turn up. Maybe Willie Young should go for an "arrestable" and get the front page headline.

Looks like a self-selecting sample, or a very small sample, or both.

99% sure. This one is part of the UK wide actions in support of the EDL Woolwich event. In retrospect with the SDL's BNP connections perhaps the NF will give it a miss. What puzzles me is why Lidl's?
