Just looked at his Facebook page and he’s put a comical video up ranting how the LD councillors there have done nothing for the area over the last 4 years. I think it’s fair to say the LD councillors in Knottingley have been pretty good there and may even have given Tom Gordan an MP’s job in Harrogate if things fall into place for him at the next GE. (Yes he’s no longer a councillor in Knottingley, but you know what I mean) Theo has the cheek to claim that he as a Labour candidate he is fighting for new sports facilities for Knottingley when infact it was his own party that closed down the sports centre. Hypocrisy at its very worst. Is he still living in Hull?

The Greens are targeting Wakefield North with 6 Election leaflets already delivered. When will they deliver to the 4012 houses?

It does seem an odd choice considering that they only got 224 votes last year.

Hypocrisy at its very worst. Reminiscent of last year in Oadby & Wigston when the Conservatives ran against the car parking charges they had voted for as cllrs. They were joined by their MP who condemned the increases by the Lib Dem run council while at the same time seemingly having no problem with the even higher fees levied by the other Conservative run council (Harborough) in his constituency.

The Greens are targeting Wakefield North with 6 Election leaflets already delivered. Someone needs to, Wakefield N is one of the most neglected wards in the district I reckon, with at least one Cllr who lives miles away, and another who ought to have been pensioned off many years ago. I wonder whether this particular Cllr seeking re-election is the reason why they’re having a bash there, with Tories in no position to try and make gains in Wakefield and no LD presence to speak of there?

I was informed last night by one of her fellow Labour ward councillors that if she is re-elected she will only serve 2 years upto the all outs in 2026.

Good, though she isn’t the only one who’d need carbon dating to figure out how old they are. Even the younger ones are old politically and clapped out.

Just managed to get hold of a copy of Mark Harrop’s election leaflet my Independent opponent in Horbury & South Ossett. Despite the fact that our ward doesn’t contain a single mosque the biggest issue according to him is the fight against Radical Islam. What exactly Wakefield Council are meant to do on this issue remains at best vague .

I see them doing that which would mean that both Liberal Democrats and the Tories would have the same number of councillors.

Or would the respective group leaders rotate at full council meetings?

If the results are the same as last year, then amazingly the balance of opposition power could rest with the only independent left in the chamber and that would be Councillor Sharp.
