The presenter on Sky News has just described Tamworth as a Red Wall seat. I have no words.. He also said immediately after ‘so if they can hang on here who knows what can happen?’, which implied to me that he was suggesting a Tory hold in Tam would put them in play in the GE!

Murdoch "news" at its best.

Slightly off topic but according to Richard Price, the soon to be ex-Local Democracy Reporter who is at the count in Tamworth, Howling Laud Hope is absent and in hospital. I’m sure we can all agree on wishing him a speedy recovery and return for wherever the next by-election may be.

Surely this can't be right. There was a stack of Labour posters in Aspley. I was as surprised as anyone - but it's what I saw.

Figures to listen out for. Based on the turnout of 25630:
35% = 8971
40% = 10252
45% = 11534

In a clear example of Tempus Fugit, I'm surprised to learn he's in his early eighties now.

About 15 years ago he was seriously ill with a fever / infection and was actually in a coma for a few days; and of course he’s also spherical, so even being still alive is quite an achievement for him.
