Not sure if it will have any bearing on the commuter vote but major disruption at both Kings Cross and Euston tonight with a majority of trains cancelled.

Labour did poll 28.5% here in 2017 with no serious campaigning. Surely the party should better that. Indeed the almost 18,000 votes then polled would almost be sufficient to win!

What time will this by-election and the Tamworth by-election declare their results, with both counting tonight? I predict 3am.

I think there'll be recounts. Expect a late declaration.

Not sure if it will have any bearing on the commuter vote but major disruption at both Kings Cross and Euston tonight with a majority of trains cancelled. I would suspect that the majority of commuters from these parts would use the line out of St Pancras (some may also have flexible season tickets that allow validity on two routes such as Milton Keynes/Bedford tickets, though that may not be of much help if they have a car parked at a station on the affected lines). The exception would presumably be anyone who lived in the Shefford area as that would be more in the catchment of Arlesey.

I reckon 3am is about right for Tamworth, but Mid Bed I imagine might be closer so probably 4am at the earliest.

How will the boundary changes affect this seat?

If the Dribbling Lemmings are saying that they’re doing well in challenging the Conservative Party in the villages, that’s their way of admitting that they’re completely rubbish in the towns.
My joy at the Lib Dems coming third will outweigh my delight / disappointment about Conservative / Labour winning / losing / whatever. If the Lib Dems manage to come 2nd or 1st, my annoyance will outweigh my delight at the Conservative Party winning.

How will the boundary changes affect this seat? Mostly stays the same but about 12000 electors at the eastern end of the seat around Shefford are moved into the new Hitchin constituency. Lib Dem campaigning in that area will probably help them in the general election, as Hitchin will be one of their target seats.

This feels to me a little like Henley where the Lib Dems threw the kitchen sink at it and were disappointed to get just under 30% - my understanding at the time was they felt it was going to be more like 40% and neck and neck with the Tories. Obviously a different circumstance and dynamic with more than a single challenger but sometimes you throw the kitchen sink at a campaign and it throws it back at you. Henley was definitely one - is mid Beds another?

I suapect that the wards going into Hitchin were strong for Labour today and will encourage them for the GE there.
