It completely passed me by that there's a by-election this Wednesday. I don't think it would be fair to run a proper contest with just over a day's notice so will make that an exhibition in this thread for anyone who wants some practice and roll the contest on the 25th May into June. Full spiel will be posted tomorrow.

So far, there are 7 by-elections and 8 deferred elections for a total of 26 seats to be held during May and June.
- 1 by-election on 17 May – this is an exhibition contest and won’t count towards final totals.
- 1 on 25 May
- 1 on 1 June
- 1 on 8 June
- 1 on 13 June (note, this is a Tuesday)
- 1 by-election and 5 deferred elections for 12 seats on 15 June
- 3 deferred elections for 7 seats on 22 June
- 1 on 29 June
2 by-elections and 4 deferred elections are for district councils, the by-election wards last contested in May and 2021 respectively
3 by-elections and 3 deferred elections are for a unitary authority, the by-election wards last contested in May, 2022 and 2021 respectively
1 deferred election is for a metropolitan borough
1 by-election is for a London borough council last contested in 2022
1 by-election is for a Scottish authority last contested in 2022
Conservatives defend 2 by-election seats, 1 following a resignation and 1 a disqualification
Labour defend 2 by-election seats, both following a resignation
Liberal Democrats defend 2 by-election seats, both following a resignation
SNP defend 1 by-election seat following a resignation
With 4 SOPNs having been published, there is currently a full slate of 4 candidates apiece for the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats, 3 Labour, 3 Green together with 1 Independent and 1 No Description contesting 1 election – a total of 16 candidates for 4 seats.
Predictions on this thread at 9.00am on the day of the election.
