Whichever the exact day was, I think we must now have passed it; so unless any have been missed, we now have the complete list of byelections for 4 May. The opening post on this thread for 2022/23 by elections was posted exactly 365 days ago! In that case we had better crack open a new thread and get this party new municipal year started. It seems the carry-over list is tiny with so many vacancies being unfilled or in areas with elections on May 4th. All I can see from the previous thread is: 17 May
Stroud, Painswick & Upton. Jason Bullingham (Conservative) has ceased to be a councillor. 15 June
North Lanarkshire, Bellshill. Jordan Linden (SNP) has resigned. Outstanding vacancies waiting for by-election date to be confirmed:

Isles of Scilly, St Mary's. Mike Nelhams (Independent) has ceased to be a councillor. Mike Nelhams moved from Scilly to Cornwall in March 2022. I wonder how many meetings he has attended since then! |

Jinxed I wanted to answer my own question about which current local authority has gone the longest period of time without a by election. Using a couple of sources including andrewteale ‘s website, I think there are 6 local councils where it is more than a decade since the last by election ( 4 of which are Scottish) East Renfrewshire- last by election June 2001 Portsmouth- Feb 2008 Inverclyde- Jun 2009 West Dunbartonshire- Mar 2011 East Dunbartonshire- Aug 2012 Rochdale- Apr 2013 |

She had been removed from the website - she appears to have now been re-added. So perhaps a website error in the first place. |

West Lancashire, Rural South (x3), has been countermanded due to the death of a candidate. I presume that person hasnt died since 4pm today? If they submitted their nomination on Tuesday and died yesterday before nominations closed does that lead to a countermanded poll? |

The notice is dated 24th March, so I assume that means thar the nomination was submitted and that they died before 24/03. |
