1 August - Welsh Assembly - Ynys Mon - Plaid Cymru resigned
Also, Barwell should be Bardwell.

Confusion reigns over whether Colin Brewer Ind councillor for Wadebridge East on Cornwall UA has or is about to resign .

ITV West are saying that Colin Brewer has told them that he has resigned . I think he has resigned but only from the Independent group, as he is now shown as a standalone Independent. |

You may be right , there are conflicting news reports , the one from ITV West quotes him as saying that his resignation is "in the post" |

Actually I think it is a pity he has resigned. The people of Wadebridge East had a chance to give their views on his comments in May. Rightly or wrongly, they decided that he was still the best person to represent them. I don't see that anything has changed since May that means he needs to resign.

Rightly or wrongly, they decided that he was still the best person to represent them. I don't see that anything has changed since May that means he needs to resign. This follows a further outburst along similar lines, however. And he was only re-elected by a tiny margin. |

I find it incomprehensible that someone like that could be re-elected in the first place. He got a shade over 25% and won by 4 votes. Too many people wanted to be the person to replace him. If the other local independent (who, according to a local paper, 'led the revolt against Colin Brewer') hadn't stood, he may well have lost. |

Nathaniel Buckingham Conservative councillor for Tweedale West on Scottish Borders Council has announced that he will resign on July 29th . The by election will probably result in a Lib Dem gain . Bugger, I just moved. --- I would beware predicting a LD gain. The Bhatia has a strong personal vote, albeit she's marmite and the 2nd LD was formerly stood as an independent getting ~14% in the ward. If they stand again there is a chance, otherwise I don't see the Lib Dems taking it. |
