It would be good to see him come behind the Conservatives, but unfortunately the Conservative doesn't have a great chance of winning, probably still less than UKIP despite the circumstances.

Although not yet posted on the council's website, the timetable for the Codnor & Waingroves ward by-election in Amber Valley, Derbyshire has been set and polling day will be 18 July 2013.

A generous supply of Party candidates for a Town Council by-election. Do we know the party, if any, of the previous councillor? I see the UKIP candidate, Amy Charles, contested Rickmansworth division at the recent Herts CC elections. She is gradually working her way up the constituency, all the time getting closer to her home at Tring! The deceased councillor was a Lib Dem. Berkhamsted East elected 3 Conservatives and 2 Lib Dems in 2011 (the other two wards elected a full slate of 5 Conservatives). This by-election does seem to be being quite hotly contested. I did some leafletting there last evening and could see both LD and Conservative leaflets in people's porches |
