The Methodist church owes more to Marxism than Methodism Perhaps it's just that Methodist New Connexion eventually defeated the Wesleyans and did a reverse takeover?

The Green candidate is Paul Bowers, their only CWaC councillor (Helsby ward, which is in Weaver Vale).
One photograph with people holding placards isn't enough:

why is it always Vote Green Party? We don't say Vote Labour Party or Vote Conservative Party. Vote Green is just a better slogan.

There’s two people in the pictures there, it doesn’t specify which one is the Loony candidate? It’s hard to tell…

It’s hard to tell… Yes it does specify, and it is easy to tell, because the one on the right is Nick the Flying Brick (easily recognisable as a veteran famous politician) and the one on the left is a young whippersnapper journalist who (according to the text in thee tweet) has just joined the OMRLP and been selected as the candidate.

I've previously mentioned having won a vote in precisely this way in a ward where no Green Party candidates were standing and a voter had scrawled "I want to vote Green" on their ballot. When the disputed papers came before us agents, I was able to successfully claim it as support for one of my candidates, Lawrence Green!
