You do know this is Chester? @boogieeck thinks the racial diversity portrayed in Hollyoaks in some way reflects reality I had a group of young (18-23 years old) missionaries staying in one of my parish houses for three weeks a fortnight ago - I had to tell them that living on Audley Range in Blackburn does not prove Fox News's claim that the UK is overwhelmed by Muslims and a no-go area. One day, they excitedly told me how the local Muslims had given them some lovely food, I replied "These local Muslims, were they the people who you saw at Mass this morning?""Yes", was the reply, "You mean the Syro-Malabar Catholics?" was mine.

Chester is one of those cities where you can see people who have MONEY. Not merely comfortable; I mean MONEY.

somewhat larger gathered flock (well, it was in a church). why these churches are allowed to dodge taxes is beyond me We never have party political gatherings in RC Churches - I am baffled when I see this.

why these churches are allowed to dodge taxes is beyond me We never have party political gatherings in RC Churches - I am baffled when I see this. I did smile on seeing that photograph. In the 2019 election we posted a photo of one of our canvassing teams "out and about". They were in a (public) car park, behind them there was a fence, a hedge, a road and then (just about visible) the local Methodist Church. We got an indignant e-mail from the Minister demanding we take it down (the photo, not the chapel) because it implied that the church was endorsing the Lib Dems. As Agent I replied pointing out that having a building visible in the background was scarcely an endorsement, but we very much agreed that it would be entirely inappropriate for church property to be used for party political purposes. Her manse (do Methodists have Manses?) had a huge Vote Labour poster in the garden.

Then I'd be as rude as her silly email justified.

You can't e-mail a Labour-supporting Methodist Minister and open (and close) with the line "put your own house in order you moaning cow" Even I know that You could firmly and slightly rudely point out the inconsistency in her position without being downright nasty / unprofessional. Perhaps "you moaning cow" would be best avoided!

I believe the Methodist Church certainly used to have Manses; my Great Uncle, who died shortly after my Christening, apparently used his as the committee room for his brother, a Labour-Co-op councillor, and for Stephen Swingler in at least one General Election (my nan and my mum were in charge of making sandwiches and mugs of tea).

The Methodist church owes more to Marxism than Methodism

Red Oni, Blue Oni Also, that's a fairly silly iconographic tradition. By all means retain it.

What is it with Lib Dems and churches in the background. Subliminal messaging? Farronite religious centrists?
