NE Beds isn't a bad shout though it does contain the delightfully named town of Biggleswade Let's not forget the Great Fire of 1785.
And Jordans the muesli and oat bar people have been here for 150 years, an example of a great and continuing family company. Bought out by Associated British Foods about 15 years ago.

Associated British Foods must be one of the least romantic company names ever.

Mid Beds is a terrible call - Cranfield University, Marston Vale, Woburn Abbey, Woburn Safari Park, Captain Tom Country, Stewartby Brickworks, Millbrook Proving Ground, Centerparcs, RAF Chicksands. Admittedly more interesting the further west you go (must be because you are getting closer to Milton Keynes)
Can't argue with NE Beds though, even giving points for Cardington Hangars.

You appear to have made a typo. Milton Keynes and interesting are in the same sentence.

He’ll always be associated with Yorkshire though. Yorkshire (as if there’s a mini tourist board etched into the DNA of all Yorkshire folk) is incredibly good at marketing itself and probably is the most proud county of itself in terms of attachment people have to it and how much people talk about it (for better or worse), just the degree of sentimentality and emotional response and attachment, followed by Essex, Devonwall, and Lancashire (though I feel even Lancashire has been diluted somewhat thanks to GM and Merseyside), then Durham, Norfolk, I’d say. On the other hand, and no offence being an ignorant northerner, but Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Berkshire, etc must be the most bland/‘neutral’ counties that don’t provoke any response from anyone really nor does anyone seem to be particularly ‘attached’ to them (probably because they’re full of London emigres, and the younger ones brought up there probably moved out for uni in a more interesting city then not return) Just think of it like a game of ‘Pointless’, Yorkshire would get the highest score and I bet one of these neutral shires will get the lowest score*. *okay, it’d probably be Rutland, but that’s like a mini-Yorkshire if you speak to anyone there…

On the Mid/NE Bedfordshire debate, i'd come down firmly on the side of Mid Beds as being the most boring, samey and anonymous. NE Beds has far more electoral variety, especially along the A1 corridor. Biggleswade is a serious town which Labour can win in a good year and Sandy can be politically interesting and some of the smaller communities like Arlesley and Stotfold are mixed too. Against which you have an almost monolithic Conservative strength in the rural Bedford borough wards. Mid Bedfordshire has far less variety and the largest town is Flitwick for goodness sake - the largest proper town is Ampthill. Notwithstanding some historic Lib Dem support there and in some of the wards bordering Luton, it is all very samey when it comes to distribution of party support. I come at this from the point of view of someone who spends an unhealthy amount of time working out notional ward results for various constituencies and there are always some constituencies that are a chore to do because of the lack of variety. That is why Denton & Reddish resonated so strongly with me and Mid Beds is a good equivalent from the point of view of a safe, but not monolithic, Conservative seat

The brickwork are the main interesting thing about the Marston Vale. Other than that I'll give you Woburn Abbey, but ZSL Whipsnade is better than the safari park
