Gedling,Cavendish Con 15, Lab 45, LD 30, GP 6, ND 4 Seemed like a good time to return! I had my prediction ready more than 24 hours ago and I haven't changed it at all - had I put it then it would have been out of line with nearly all of you but I am heartened by Toylyyev going further than me to make it a near Lab/Lib marginal. Nobody yet has predicted a Lib Dem victory! Actually i forgot to read through the by-election thread before the post, and didn't spot the history of the LibDem candidate in the old Valley ward either. Edit: Just caught the take by andrew111 earlier on. |

15 entries to kick off 2022, with very welcome returns from yellowperil and agbutler and freshmen in dundas and manchesterman, and DHAA being the only missing regular. 2 faults for kevinf for going slightly under, everyone else on time and correct. Cavendish, Gedling: 100% Labour hold, with majorities ranging from 3.5% (Toylyyev) to 43% (agbutler.) Of course you would have spotted that Lib Dem win a mile off. No. I wouldn't but then I don't do the competition because I see it to be fairly pointless (certainly this week!) if entirely harmless. It is just that for a self-select group of obsessives in the field of psephology within a leading Forum dedicated to the subject, it is a matter of some amusement to me that so many of you get it so wrong so often. And then there is the rather damning weekly example of the inability of many of you to be able to add up to 100, to remember all the candidates, to proof read or to make the time slot. It is all very telling!! |
