The Conservative candidate’s proposer is Desmond Swayne so he must live in this ward. Yes. But surely any Conservative MP who signed the nomination papers of a non-Conservative candidate, and where there is a Conservative candidate standing in the same election, would lose the whip at least? |

The andrewteale preview (how did he know? Is he a stalker?) said that Christopher Chope also lives in the ward, I wonder if there’s anything in him *not* being a nominator? |

I understand Labour have won the Handforth town council by-election to replace Brian Tolver. Hopefully their new councillor reads the standing orders and understands them. The problem, as I'm sure @boogieeck would agree, wasn't that the councillors hadn't read and understood the SOs, but that the person facilitating the meeting hadn't. |
