Boycotting X is too woke even for me. I need it for all the banal US politics shit I pump out on here

It is no longer financially imperative for businesses and organisations to use X. It’s now so widely associated with Musk that many now prefer not to use it, and others amongst us always hated it anyway and have never used it. When I was in charge of social media for my choir, and that’s nearly a year ago now, I said that I didn’t want to use it, and the consensus was that it was not necessary to.

I want a by-election in Rochester & Strood just to see Emily Thornberry atone for her debacle at the last by-election here. Epic rap battles - Starmer vs Farage vs whoever the Tory leader is.

Is it possible to go back 10 years on X and delete one’s tweets? If so, I don’t understand why anyone thinking of running for Parliament wouldn’t go back and review their tweets and delete as required. When I left Twitter in December 2022 following Elon Musk's decision to allow vaccine deniers onto the platform, I closed my account and was told that all my tweets could be downloaded, and saved to my computer, but that once my account was closed all tweets would be wiped from the system. But if a system grabbed your tweets before you deleted them then a copy of them exists outside of twitter’s system. And it wouldn’t just be yours it would be lots of people. linktr.ee/blog/how-to-see-old-tweets-on-twitter/

If not what on earth are you going on about?

Labour's poor result in the 2014 by-election was not primarily down to the campaigning of Emily Thornberry. It was seen as a Tory-UKIP shootout & Labour was not seen as in a position to win the seat, nor was the party very popular at that time in constituencies in Kent or Essex. It did take a decade.

Labour deserved their wins here, honestly.

I’m not sure your choir is necessarily representative of the commercial and operational decisions made by major organisations. I agree that lots of big brands don’t see it as their major marketing tool these days, although that’s more likely to do with demographics and usage than the political persuasion of the site’s owner. The reality is that the President of the United States made his announcement that he was withdrawing from the race solely through a picture on X. No press conference, no televised speech. Just a tweet.

Have you also cut off your telephone due to vaccine deniers having telephones? Have you also cut off any interaction with the Royal Mail due to vaccine deniers being able to post letters? Well put. Am assuming Harry also doesent write letters to newspapers if there are letters he disagrees with there about vaccines. It is perfectly possible there are people here, too (not me) who take a different view on vaccines. In which case a dilemma presents itself for him. Personally I've always enjoyed a good debate and any forum that allows this suits me just fine

Given how long ago it was, is it not quite possible that she simply forgot about them? Probably, I’ve had the same Facebook account since 2009, created just when I started my last year at school. It sometimes shows you ‘memories’ and going back there’s things I don’t remember posting about at all Nothing especially offensive that I’ve noticed but I do cringe at my tone and some of the random pointless things that I posted about when much younger However the fact that people may forget things from years ago may be a reason in itself to delete everything if possible or close and set up new accounts if they’re going into a public role
