And probably a helpful, for want of a better word, job. Being an MP can be a bit unforgiving.

Gotta be more fun than looking up his skirt. Have you officially been appointed Minister for lowering the tone? I think that might actually be my dream job.

I can imagine that embarking on transitioning while an MP would be a challenge. I suppose it depends what his intentions are. ’Challenge’ is probably putting it mildly. Really strikes me as something that requires privacy Normal transgender people presumably have to turn up for work after transitioning with a new appearance and name and just get through it. Not sure privacy is something that will ever happen if ultimately one wants to live publicly as a member of the other sex.

Wallis has been convicted, got a £2,500 fine and six month driving ban today. Not a great advert for women drivers, to be honest. EDIT: in response to a post that was deleted as I was posting

I should imagine that walking down the street meeting constituents will be fun ... I can't imagine that he will be canvassing for re-election - I would be surprised if he stuck it out to the next general election. If the boundary changes go ahead more or less as proposed surely it'd be the most pyrrhic and pointless Labour gain imaginable.

But most won't be followed by the media either, which won't be true here

If someone took the seat on South Somerset this week for instance, a council being abolished next year, that would be a pointless gain.

Im a bit surprised that South Somerset by election is going ahead. 8 month term. Party has a big majority so no impact on council control, and it’s a seat in a multi member ward so no gap in representation.

I don't know, the Conservatives won a Devon CC by election in late 1996 (Plymstock, Radford) which gave the members something to be cheerful about.

We'd all be screaming blue murder if it wasn't.

There are various vacancies on some of the other councils due for abolition (Ryedale has four!) which have so far not been called despite notices of vacancy being published.

He must have looked an absolute fright. The other drivers and passengers may have suffered serious mental trauma over this. He must be compelled to compensate them for the severe emotional distress that he has caused. And driving in 'heels' at his age and in his condition ..... I ask you? Where do they dig up this sick dross from?

I should imagine that walking down the street meeting constituents will be fun ... It depends on his colour match with the stockings. Some women members will be interested to see if he can pull it off?
