mmm - the tweeter is the CLP vice chair Big pinch of salt. I would be surprised if it wasn’t at least close ish, so It would be odd if they werent a bit nervous.

A strikingly close FP result. Not bad, not bad at all from a Tory perspective. The SNP candidate was elected at stage 4.

That's the first preference votes. The SNP candidate won on the fourth (ie last) stage of transfers.

Why is Frimley Green taking so long to count?

Frimley Green CON GAIN from LD Con 896 LD 877 Lab 76 And kind of shows the tories to govern Not sure what you mean, but it moves Surrey Heath council from NOC to a Conservative majority of 1. That is worth celebrating. Remember that the last local elections there were of course Theresa May's 2019 attempt to implode the Conservative Party. Oh, and after a fantastic result like that, I just can't resist:

The Conservatives did win the relevant County division by a convincing margin in May, so not an altogether surprising result. I was almost tempted to go for Con gain in the predictions, but in the end thought the Lib Dems would just hold it...

A clear case of name response. Liberal vote hardly changed. Conservatives gained ukip and pirate vote. Maybe a small factor, but a clear case?

I was almost tempted to go for Con gain in the predictions, but in the end thought the Lib Dems would just hold it... Same here, I went for a narrow LD hold, but I thought it would be close. Rather like the Somerset results last week, 2019 was a LIb Dem high water mark in a lot of Lib Dem/ Con contests in the South and 2021 was a Con high water mark and now we are somewhere between the two so there is scope for Con gains from the Lib Dem’s in some wards last contested in 2019.
