Chalvey Sports have a monkey on their badge. Their nickname is the Stabmonks due to a local legend about a monkey getting stabbed by an angry father.

More Owls than Blades there I would think Well that's my point - would he bump into blades in any numbers?
And of course, way, way, back in time Wednesday being the older team their first nickname was .....The Blades.
Both sets of fans call the others Pigs these days. I think the Blades fans are more creative about it though..

www.fanchants.com/football-songs/sheffield_utd-chants/swingin-a-pig/It is quite an experience being in the Leppins Lane End when the Hillsborough tannoy starts up "Swinging the Blues" and the Blades fans supply the correct words (with numerous inflatable pigs dressed in blue and white stripes being batted around). Looked for a video without success..

I'm not a big user of the block function - I think I only have Captain Footnote (not his real name) blocked, and from what I can see he's not been around for a while. But I am considering upping that to two. Go on. Spoil yourself and just do it. You know you want to. Actually, I will. Goodbye, you poisonous old bar-room bore.

Double clotted too. Still, it's good to know from C43 that Phil Mickelson (missed cut) did just as well at the Open as Jordan Speith (2nd) in that neither of them won. Oh dear! Do you have nothing better to do? There isn't anything better.

Both are used verbally in Sheffield, it depends a bit on context. You sit in the West Stand but away fans historically stood at the Leppings Lane End. Away fans enter the ground at the Leppings Lane End, the stand is often not mentioned. Though if you're entering that individual stand then it is the West Stand. As for where you are once in the ground well both are used interchangeably. You're right in terms of club day to day publicity, ticketing etc it will generally talk about as the West Stand.

I was on the tram yesterday with Wednesday fans (really nice bunch of lads) but got out at West Street. There is a Leppings Lane stop that I use for our picture framers and restorers. But I am a Blades supporter.

I always had the impression from my time in Sheffield that the name Leppings Lane wasn’t a problem for locals because they just knew it as a road and a place in Hillsborough. It was outsiders why only associated it with the events at the stadium and that’s what made it a bit problematic.
Kind of like how for most people locally Soham is just a small town in Cambridgeshire, whereas for a lot of the country it’s only known as the place where two girls were murdered by their school caretaker.

Stands are always changing their names, but fans tend to use the traditional street name. There is no disrespect in using the original name of the stand.

I then cut across the road sharpish as it is usually very busy.

And a bit of a tractor boy on the side. Of course. Ephemeral, snowflake, glory supporting nonsense, not being able to lower themselves to being a real football fan.

If they had lost on Saturday instead of recording their first win of the season, they would have been stone last in League One.
