Of course. Ephemeral, snowflake, glory supporting nonsense, not being able to lower themselves to being a real football fan. Given their form in recent seasons supporting Ipswich has been anything but a glory hunt!
If they had lost on Saturday instead of recording their first win of the season, they would have been stone last in League One. Not the 'glory supporting' I was referring to. That'd be the team that's been in the top flight for over 100 years...

And a bit of a tractor boy on the side. Of course. Ephemeral, snowflake, glory supporting nonsense, not being able to lower themselves to being a real football fan. To be fair, expressing support for the Blades is hardly glory hunting, and of course in general terms admirable (particularly if the alternative is Wednesday) I am looking forward to celebrating the 100th anniversary (in April 2025) of the original and only true "United" last winning something!

I'm alluding to the lack of ability to be able to actually commit to a club. Instead it's a commodity that people flit between clubs in a desperate attempt for success...

Yes, I know, but flitting to Sheffield Utd would not be very rational in those terms! I am more sympathetic to people who give support to a new club when they move there, than people who grow up in Portsmouth (for example) but have undying loyalty to Man City (with no hereditary connection. My children are both proper Blades despite having to grow up in Leeds)

I was on the tram yesterday with Wednesday fans (really nice bunch of lads) but got out at West Street. There is a Leppings Lane stop that I use for our picture framers and restorers. But I am a Blades supporter. Have you been a Blades supporter for long Carlton? First match in mid-80s.

'Glory supporting'. On occasion. But 'Snowflake' (spelt wrongly of course)? I don't think so, do you? But who gives a flying fuck what you think, or even stops to wonder if you think, or more to the point can you think?

I am and always have been committed to Arsenal on all and every occasion. But when living elsewhere I see no harm in support for my local club, as well, in matches usually not involving Arsenal. Why are you so very bitter and vituperative and nasty about whom I choose to support? What on earth has it to do with you?

There are plenty of reasons why someone might have more than one sporting allegiance

Yeah, well Carlton & self awareness are rather mutually exclusive concepts...
