Erm the electoral college and congressional count are still to come. Both could throw up surprises. Also, a handful of states have still not verified their results.... The electoral college meets on 19 December. The constitutional deadline for each state to name their members of it is six days before.

Ah yes, Donna Brazile, easily one of thickest people in US politics. I might even venture to say that she is the American version of Diane Abbott.

and:
Some absurd examples of incompetence in the latter one:
"Everybody could see Hillary Clinton was cooked in Iowa. So when, a week-and-a-half out, the Service Employees International Union started hearing anxiety out of Michigan, union officials decided to reroute their volunteers, giving a desperate team on the ground around Detroit some hope. They started prepping meals and organizing hotel rooms.
SEIU — which had wanted to go to Michigan from the beginning, but been ordered not to — dialed Clinton’s top campaign aides to tell them about the new plan. According to several people familiar with the call, Brooklyn was furious.
Turn that bus around, the Clinton team ordered SEIU. Those volunteers needed to stay in Iowa to fool Donald Trump into competing there, not drive to Michigan, where the Democrat’s models projected a 5-point win through the morning of Election Day. Michigan organizers were shocked. It was the latest case of Brooklyn ignoring on-the-ground intel and pleas for help in a race that they felt slipping away at the end."
(...)
“I’ve never seen a campaign like this,” said Virgie Rollins, a Democratic National Committee member and longtime political hand in Michigan who described months of failed attempts to get attention to the collapse she was watching unfold in slow-motion among women and African-American millennials."

Isn't it time for the MSM and DNC to start demanding that the FBI formally commence an investigation into the links to the Russian Federation of those working at Brooklyn?

Isn't it time for the MSM and DNC to start demanding that the FBI formally commence an investigation into the links to the Russian Federation of those working at Brooklyn? Investigation? We don't need that - we now have the Bradshaw doctrine ' we don't have any evidence but it's highly probable' The latest is that the Kremlin organised the sexual assaults by migrants in Germany in order to undermine Merkel

"Donald Trump is facing growing pressure to respond to the alleged hack of the election by the Russians as new reports say Vladimir Putin was "directly tied" to the cyber attack. NBC news reported that the Russian president was personally involved in the attempt to disrupt the election, according to two anonymous intelligence officials. The motives for the alleged cyber attack were multifaceted. Mr Putin had a "vendetta" against Hillary Clinton, and this morphed into a desire to highlight corruption in American politics and split off key US allies, according to Michael McFaul, former US ambassador to Russia." www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/donald-trump-russian-cyber-attack-rex-tillerson-vladimir-putin-hacking-election-vendetta-hillary-a7476096.html

As counting comes to an end, some maps may be presented. Leads (5%-scale): Swings (1.77% nationwide to Pres.elect Mr. Trump): Trends (0.00% nationwide):

I personally have no desire to see Trump become president, but this notion of the electoral college going revolt is just ridiculous. He won the right assortment of states, the people there voted for those particular electors to vote for particular candidates, and though the EC could quite legally go for someone else, it's really not a good look when you think about it. Really, what Trump's opponents should be doing is calling on members of Congress (as dysfunctional as that particular institution may be) to provide the necessary oversight for Trump's presidency...

A group of Democrat supporting Hollywood actors have appeared in a video urging Republican electors not to vote for Trump. Its clearly very serious because they're all wearing their glasses. martin Sheen even puts on his glasses at the start of the video so that you everyone realises just how grave the matter is. Toby Ziegler is looking old, isn't he. It was only the voice that told me who it was. Don't recognise the ones who aren't Jed Bartlett.

Why was there no Arnie Vinick in this election? There wasn't even someone in this election of Robert Ritchie's calibre; a cardboard cutout Bush caricature created solely so Sorkin had a punching bag over the 2000 election.

Obviously, this is a major game-changer. Until now, it has surely never even occurred to the members of the Electoral College to vote with their consciences. Trump's electors must have been recruited and selected on the basis of shallow sound bites and slogans, without any consideration of wider political or constitutional matters. We should all be grateful to these actors for doing something which none of the other 300 million Americans could ever have had the wisdom to do, which is that they have provided an irrefutable and convincing reason for the EC to elect somebody else. Now we just have to wait and see who they will choose. Roberta McCain, perhaps? Or Matt Damon or Leonardo DiCaprio?
