Has anyone any idea when Michigan, the two California House seats and the North Carolina Governor elections will be finally called? Regarding Michigan the BBC explains why Associated Press has not called the state: The AP news agency says it will not declare an outcome in the Midwestern state while a recount remains possible. Michigan's unofficial results show Mr Trump winning by over 13,000 votes. AP, which gathers voting data from state and local officials, said it would soon declare a result if neither campaign called for a recount.
In other developments, Hilary's lead over Trump in the aggregated national vote is now over 1 million: 61,993,136 (47.9%) vs. 60,948,836 (47.1%).

The BBC said that 3 days ago. I recall Florida in 2000 when the margin was less than 600 votes and an issue was "hanging chads" but it does not currently appear anywhere near that close. It is now 10 days since "absentee votes" had to be in the post. Surely the American postal service is not that inefficient.

Doesn't make any difference but Trump's overall national vote share is now 46.8% and is clearly going to end up lower than Mitt Romney.

Mitt Romney is apparently going to meet Trump to discuss the position of secretary of state.
Who would have thought that Mitt Romney could end up saving the day?

A lot of the cabinet positions don't matter that much. As long as he appoints reasonably capable people as to State, Defense, Treasury and Attorney General things shouldn't be too bad. I hope that Jeff Sessions gets a cabinet job simply to get the loathsome creep out of the Senate. You'll be pleased to know that he has now been picked as Attorney General. Also Rep Mike Pompeo will be Director of the CIA. Well I am pleased to see that Sessions will be out of the Senate, especially as he is next in line to chair the Judiciary committee, but I can't exactly welcome the nomination of and out and out racist as Attorney General. Assuming that Sessions is confirmed it will mean a special election in Alabama early next year, with Gov Bentley making an interim appointment to serve until then.

Seems that Mike Huckabee will become ambassador to Israel. What's next? Rick Santorum as ambassador to the Holy See?
