Not unlike this august forum then... We'd filibuster by reading the railway timetable. or the CAMRA handbook ... you could explain about the Worth Valley Railway beer festival, which combines both

I see Betfred are offering 1/3 that Trump lasts the full term as President. I know that part of it will be that he's 70 years old (the oldest person to be first elected as President) but that's pretty high odds.

Has anyone any idea when Michigan, the two California House seats and the North Carolina Governor elections will be finally called?

The decision about when to 'call' the result of an election is up to the media. Michigan will be decided when the Board of State Canvassers holds a meeting and certifies the vote totals. This meeting is not yet scheduled but must take place before 13 December.

At least they're not offering prices on assassination like Paddy Power did with Obama.

Trump has entered the honeymoon phase, down to a mere -13 favorability rating. Compared to other recent presidents elect: Donald Trump: 42-55 (-13) Barack Obama: 68-27 (+41) George W. Bush: 59-36 (+23) Bill Clinton: 58-35 (+23)

Has anyone any idea when Michigan, the two California House seats and the North Carolina Governor elections will be finally called? There are still tens of thousands of mail in and provisional ballots to be counted in the two California house races. The one's counted so far strongly suggest that Ami Bera and Darrell Issa will both hold their seats. Officials in each county have 28 days after the election to count all the ballots but we could gets calls from these races any day now if Bera and Issa extend/maintain their leads. In North Carolina there are still thousands of of ballots to count, some provisional and some overseas. Unless these ballots extend Roy Cooper's lead beyond 10,000 there will be a full recount.

This place voted 85% for Trump and this place went for Clinton by a 10pt margin. Remember that the next time you see some British journalist or whatever who has watched too many episodes of The West Wing opine about the meaning of this election for politics here...

The UMWA (which is basically a pensioners organisation these days of course) was neutral in this election, incidentally.
