As anticipated it looks like Drumpfs cabinet will be littered with misogynists, white supremacists and out and out racists.
Meanwhile the drumpf household are taking full advantage to enrich themselves off the position and I would imagine that drumpf international will use every opportunity to recapitalise.
Drain the swamp!

Drain the swamp! On the bright side he has suddenly settled those Trump University lawsuits which suggests he is getting some sage advice from somebody on some things. Old Trump was dead against settling.

Hillary's margin of loss in some 'swing' and 'red' states: 3.7% - Arizona 5.2% - Georgia 8.5% - Ohio 9.1% - Texas 9.5% - Iowa
She spent tens of millions in Iowa and particularly Ohio, spent a few million in Arizona and spent little in Texas and Georgia. While advertising is getting less effective, if she had put the same effort that she did in Ohio and Iowa, we could have seen Georgia be very close and Texas much closer than either of the two supposed swing states. This just adds to reports earlier in the thread about basically no spending in Michigan or Wisconsin, both of which she barley lost. A campaign can have the 'best' people and 100s of millions in spending but that is trumped by actual common sense.

Too many people who criticise political correctness and safe spaces are really just wanting the world to be their kind of political correctness and safe space.

I try to be a realist, and reality bites everyone, sooner or later (mind you, that might be being optimistic).

The theatre may be a special space but it is far from a safe one, historically speaking. I'm surprised that the cast got involved mind, I thought it was just the audience.

The theatre was probably the first ever subversive location in civilised culture!

It certainly hasn't been a safe space for Republican presidents

The cast seem to be very Democrat, they have preivously done a special performance to fundraise for Hillary.

It certainly hasn't been a safe space for Republican presidents The play being performed when Lincoln was shot was "Our American Cousin" by the English dramatist and journalist Tom Taylor, who was editor of "Punch" at one point (young posters ask your parents). His other plays included one called "The Contested Election", which is an interesting comedic window on how elections were fought at this point in British history.

According to my dictionary: "Teaterslag (theatre battle) is a conflict between groups of spectators, or between groups of spectators and actors. We have a theatre battle when the conflict manifests itself through persistent and comprehensive shouting, throwing of items or fighting with multiple participants on both side."
In the 18th and 19th century we used to have a tradition in Copenhagen for big theatre battles between officers of the garrison and university students (sometimes backed by the navy).
The Norwegian poet Henrik Wergeland is quoted for saying that "my proudest moment was undeniably the one in which I from my loge witnessed the murderous defeat of my enemies in the so-called "theatre- or Campeller battle". The so-called "intelligence party", or "the top" (conservative students committed to preserving Danish bourgeois culture and traditional aesthetics) was routed by the liberal "patriots". One of the leaders of the intelligence party, the future law professor and literary critic Peter Jonas Collett, later married Wergeland's sister, so I guess they made up afterwards.
Sadly, theatre battles seem to have died out. The Norwegians had their latest in 1911 as the last Nordic country to have a proper one.

This sort of thing used to happen in New York in the nineteenth century over rival productions of Shakespeare!. People were often killed as a result. London had some as well but usually over ticket prices...
