I am assuming Tower Hamlets will be a Taliban gain? This is a Bangladeshi majority area, not a Pashtun/Hazara/Uzbek/Tajik majority area. Would you like a map to understand that there is thousands of miles between the 2 countries? |

Two really excellent LD results showing what can be done if you make the effort. We came closer in Orwell & Villages than I had thought possible- good candidate, good campaign, but candidate did come from Felixstowe and was starting from scratch. And a really positive vote in Grange, nothing "defensive" about that campaign, and a big turnout for an August local byelection in a safe looking ward.
Least said about Tower Hamlets the better.

Would you like a map to understand that there is thousands of miles between the 2 countries? It isn't even that. In 2011, the largest ethnic group in the area was White British. It may be a plurality British-Bangladeshi ward now, but I doubt if it is a majority one. However, melthamhd94nn does need to give his head a wobble. The Rahmanites may be sleazy and communitarian, but they aren't anything like the Taliban or particularly religious, although they are happy to use religion as a tool. |

Yes It looks like it would have been a LD gain in Orwell, but for the fact that the Conservatives had the most local candidate. I, like many others I suspect, would probably have predicted a LD gain if the Con candidate had lived in Felixstowe |
