There is no Conservative Refuk coalition. We even have the latter's candidate on this forum and he's very clear on that. Certainly less chance of a “Conservative Refuk coalition” here than a Conservative / Lib Dem / Green coalition on the London Assembly!

I think the Lib Dem’s need to be a bit cautious with their outward optimism. Fair enough to campaign as the only party that can realistically threaten the Conservative position here, but they need to make sure they don’t push the expectations of an upset too much otherwise they’ll risk shooting themselves in the foot. I would expect a Tory majority of maybe 5,000 (due to what I think is inevitable protest over HS2 & lowish turnout). Lib Dems have absolutely nothing to lose here. No one is going to say on the BBC after a Tory victory "how devastated the Lib Dems must be after failing to win this seat when everyone thought they were going to" They will be if the Lib Dems don't manage expectations.

The media are not going to pay much attention to lib Dem expectations, since it would involve breaking the rule that says that words spoken about a political Party have to be proportional to the number of MPs unless it is led by Nigel Farage

Don't think that's necessary tbh. Outside of places like this forum I think it unlikely that there will be any discussion of the chances of us winning, especially as all the political journalists will be filing their "Whither Labour?" pieces. In fact I expect the latter to dominate the front pages even if we were to win. (Unless we win in Batley & Spen, I suppose.)

i count five (Labour qualifies in that part of the world). I think that the Labour agent's address is overly optimistic: 1 Parliament ClosePrestwood Buckinghamshire HP16 9DT They've even got a HP postcode too!

Frankly my dear,l I don't give a damn. Go a play with your bricks in the corner like a good boy and try not to make too much noise whilst we quietly just hold the seat. It is OK Carlton I am playing with some toys next to a pram labelled "Beauchief resident and Empire Loyalist" Ah! Now why would you do that to your pram? And how did you get out of it without adult help?

If you say so! Tory Refuk just has a real ring to it! Although it is a tautology. Yeahh! Yeahh!! Yeahh!!! You extreme minority party types of centre and left can chortle away in you petty insignificance whilst we of the associative right laugh all the way to the ballot box. How many constituencies do you yellow jobs hold? Oh Dear!

They've even got a HP postcode too! Saucy! "Cette sauce de haute qualité est un mélange de fruits orientaux, d'épices et de vinaigre de ‘Malt’. C'est absolument pur, avec un bon effet stimulant sur la digestion, et ne contient aucune matiere colorante ni preservative. La sauce ‘HP’ est appétissante et délicieuse avec les viandes chaudes ou froides: POISSON, JAMBON, FROMAGE, SALADE, &c, et pour relever le goût des SOUPES, HACHIS, RAGOÛTS, &c.”

Such a shame that Nige was so much more popular than your leaders for past few decades and that he could muster so many more votes than your creaking burnt out old party. No wonder you feel miffed.

Even if the 'yellow jobs' went down to a single seat I suespect it will be more than the miserable Reclaim Party with its equally miserable members of howlers at the moon will ever win. "Associative right"? I must remember that one. From tautology to oxymoron in a day.

You should stop using these big words until you have fully understood what they mean and mastered the joined up writing bit. That first para is a real horror. Did no one try to teach you structure or style? What a shame.

No, a para is one of those big guys coming floating down out of the skies. They really can be a horror if you are on the wrong side.

So many lessons and so much tedium at an early age, but useful. Did you see what I did there. I used a comma. 'They' warned against the use of what was then termed the 'comma pot', and random scatter, and the dreaded Oxford variant! The rest! The rest is down to wide reading and development of a personal style. I recommend it. Para for paragraph: Have you never encountered that before? Is it such a sin? Oh dear!

It is not a sin, but a quantum of hypocrisy when criticising the grammar of another!
