Majority of 6,940
Massive result for the Tories I didn't think a couple of days ago that we'd win this big

I am astonished that in a parliamentary by-election with 16 candidates, only 1 of them got fewer than 100 votes. Normally there would be loads under 100.

Like any sensible person , I have just woken up after a night's sleep knowing that we would still be waiting. Well excuse me but the Returning Officer herself said at 04:13am that the result would be declared within an hour or so.

Looking at those figures, Ed Miliband might be out in 2024 given that the Brexit Party got 20% in Doncaster North.

Looking at those figures, Ed Miliband might be worrying about 2024 given that the Brexit Party got 20% in Doncaster North in 2019. Pretty much every Labour MP in South Yorkshire outside of Sheffield should be worried on these figures.

Would be very surprising if the margin ends up being that big. Ended up being even bigger.

I'd hate to be Sir Kier right now. I suspect this is temporary, of there's a pro referendum majority in Scotland it will take all the oxygen out of the room and this will be forgotten

Who's going to be first to try and work out what a 16% swing to the Tories would produce in a national election?

When was the last time the Lib Dems did this badly in a parliamentary bye election?
