Waiting (im)patiently for the BCE to update their website and publish the comments received during the initial consultation. They could at least give a time for this; this would then stop me from refreshing the page every 30 minutes or so.

... and if you go to the region pages there are links to the counterproposals they received (and not just the party ones). Excellent development.

Some of the responses are really quite nuts. This individual suggests renaming the constituency (fair enough) but also wants to rename the town of Worksop as it sounds 'unpleasant'
I should like the constituency to stay as "Bassetlaw" - or even better - Retford and Bassetlaw. Worksop is an unpleasant name phonetically and a referendum to rename the town should be held. The boundary should stay south of the A631 and sit between Wiseton and Drakeholes - leaving Drakeholes in Bassetlaw.

Though they don't seem to be comprehensive - my counterproposal for Northamptonshire isn't listed, for example, even though it's in the system as including a counter-proposal.

It has a lovely gritty hard Saxon feel to it. And for a town based of oak forests, timber, coal, rail, canal, milling, foundry, wire ropes, it was ideal. It is based on an enclosure 'Wirkke' in a real serious marsh 'Soppe'. North Notts being known for oak and being one of the highest water tables in England. Only the advent of coal mining and heavy pumping got the water table down to a manageable extent. Let's keep good old Worksop intact. Bassetlaw has heritage and historic value but is a damn silly name as no one knows where it is. Call the constituency North Notts. Failing that Worksop. Failing that Worksop and Retford (too long) or just retain Bassetlaw.

I've enjoyed someone saying "this so-called boundary change". I'd like to know what he considers is happening if it's not changing boundaries.
Also one man complaining that the use of the word "independent" in the web address of the BCE is proof that it's a Tory stooge.

'replaced by a massage' -is that to ease peoples' feelings? No, it's just the commission taking a more hands-on approach.

I note that the secondary consultation period will run from 22 Feb to 4 Apr.

'replaced by a massage' -is that to ease peoples' feelings? I'd take a massage over their annoying "interactive" map software anytime. no offline-friendly way of viewing the submissions. I want my massage.

I must be being more than usually dim as I can't see them? Here. This is for London but the other regions are similar. www.bcereviews.org.uk/node/6485They are mostly in order of reference number (which BCE has helpfully not included on the list of links) - except where they aren't. (The political parties are listed together near the end, as is the Bristol analysis.)

Is it permissible to submit counterproposals during the secondary consultation stage?
