Are you referring to the children of illegal immigrants who were themselves born in the United States? If they were born in the USA, they are a) citizens and b) documented. By virtue of being born there. You might not have documents to prove that. So you could be undocumented quite easily.

Exactly. There's no way Collins, Murkowski or McConnell are voting for Gabbard and Kennedy, so the GOP should rally to sink them both. There's something to be said for narrowly letting Gaetz through to crash and burn soon enough anyway - no one's going to die just because he's AG. The view from across the pond looks to be precisely the opposite. There is genuine, and not unreasonable, fear over what a Gaetz led DOJ would get up to and GOP senators seem to be talking about Gaetz far more than any of the other picks. That is not to say that there isn't concern about Gabbard as DNI but the position is not as powerful as it looks on paper. She would have little to no authority over the the numerous agencies that would technically report to her. As for RFK, both Collins and Murkowski are on the Heath, Education, Labor and Pensions committee so it is hard to see his nomination getting reported out. That doesn't scuttle the nomination as the full Senate can vote to discharge but it adds an extra complication.

To me Gabbard is the one who is least ridiculous of the three.

You don't need to have them, the Births Deaths & Marriages Office has them. I can imagine this sort of conversation, though: * Stop trying to deport me, I'm an American Citizen! I was born here! # Show us your birth certificate. * Don't have one. # Ok, where was your birth registered? * My parents refused to register my birth. # LIGHT THE DEPORTATION CANNON!

The reviving of Bush is nauseating. Still, a pretty awful US President.

This is going well for Trump. Some of these nominations are insane. Ah Senator Blumenthal that solid Republican trooper

Ah Senator Blumenthal that solid Republican trooper The Senate is a small club of only 100 members, so while he’s not necessarily correct it is pretty common for Senators to get a good read of things even across party lines The Senate isn't meant to be a majoritarian body - hence the filibuster. They're also human beings, and (shock horror) Republicans and Democrats talk to each other.

Democrats dodged a bullet when Gabbard left the party. Though there were some amusing posts on social media suggesting Republicans had a decent upgrade from Liz Cheney to Tulsi Gabbard. Gabbard's arc is a strange one. Secular Talk covered it quite well. There's this funny trend in US politics - everyone you don't like is a grifter.

She seemed a bit of an odd fit for the Democrats, but I’d imagine to get anywhere in Hawaii politics you really need to be a Democrat

America genuinely allows this?!! It's impossible to get a tax and social security number in Germany without fully declaring yourself to the authorities. You can't even get a basic bank account. You certainly would have no legal way to work. I have both a US and German bank account, and U.S. credit cards. That surprises me. Every bank I tried refused until I handed over proof of a German address.

Well indeed, Russia Today boasted about her being a Russian asset. It's most annoying because I really hate conspiracy theories.....
