Did the Secret Service work for Biden or Trump?

I have always been a bit of an Isolationist and wonder if the world would actually be safer and nicer if there was more isolationism, especially by the powerful states? Small wars tend to stay small and relatively insignificant (and to be over fairly quickly) if no one else takes sides over them and particularly avoids using them as proxies in an elaborate game of world domination. Stay strong, well armed and powerful, but be very reluctant to use that power except for literal self defence. Avoid morality, posturing, grandstanding, being a world policeman or ever taking sides. It usually does not help, costs more lives, ups the destruction and hugely reduces the wealth creation potential. This was, of course, the policy of the UK and US (and many other countries) in the 1930’s - that ended well… PS ‘All against all’ is a very informative book about this period. It wasn't our policy in the 30s at all we had an active foreign policy, our supine attitude to Italy's involvement in the Spanish Civil war and invasion of Abyssinia was due to a desire to maintain the alliance with Italy with a view to containing Germany.

How true. It all started to go wrong in the Garden of Eden and led to the expulsion of Adam and Eve, since when everything has continued to get worse. Much easier... someone should have taken care of Gavrilo Princip 4 years before TB did in 1918. I rather think that 'The Chaps' were spoiling for a fight, just as some on here are right now, and any excuse would have done. If not Gavrilo and an Archduke, it would have been some other very minor matter bigged up into a world-class matter of principle.

The Black Hand assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand not because they though he was a tyrannical dictator but because they thought he planned to make widespread 'devolution' across the Austro Hungarian Empire a reality which would put the kibosh on full Serbian independence.

This should give the Democrats some hope.

The future of Anglo-American relations looks great with Vance and Lammy in positions of authority🙄. Does this mean we can expect to be given the Afghanistan/Iraq treatment??

Isolationism is going to work OK for Washington until they want co-belligerents in trade wars with Beijing. P.S. Vance is a shit.

Just seeing the picture of Trump with his bandage this morning made me wonder if "Trump's ear" is the most significant ear in world politics since Jenkins'? Of course, he played golf on Sunday with no bandage in sight.

An interesting development has been that a number of donors are breaking for Trump, the latest one being Marc Andreesen. I'm not aware if any of these donors with the exception of Bill Ackerman (who's been on a journey) have been particularly associated with the Democrats or if Trump is doing particularly well with donations compared to Biden - but Trump always seemed to find it hard to get big donations before so it feels like this is significant.

It's being reported that Elon M will be giving him $45M per month, which is a relatively big donation.

Just when I was thinking that it would be impossible for Trump to find a vice presidential running mate more stupid than himself, they appear to have done it.
I suppose it stems from the ignorance of foreign affairs for much of the population of middle America. The problem is that other countries do not elect small town hicks in positions of influence.

I have a lot of sympathy with that and would be content to see it enacted in the UK. I would also be content if 95% of them applied for the job they had just lost and 90% of them were successful
