Here’s the bit where Trump ponders aloud deploying the troops to stop the result being implemented...

Pinched:
One sunny day in January 2021 an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue, where he'd been sitting on a park bench. He spoke to the U.S. Marine standing guard and said, "I would like to go in and meet with President Trump." The Marine looked at the man and said, "Sir, Mr Trump is no longer President and no longer resides here." The old man said, "Okay", and walked away.
The next day, the same man approached the White House and said to the same Marine, "I would like to go in and meet with President Trump." The Marine repeated, "Sir, as I told you yesterday, Mr Trump is no longer President and no longer resides here." The man thanked him and, again, just walked away.
The third day, the old man approached the White House and spoke to the very same U.S. Marine, saying again, "I would like to go in and meet with President Trump." The Marine, understandably irritated at this point, looked at the man and said, "Sir, this is the third day in a row you've been here asking to speak to Trump. I've told you each time that he's no longer the President and no longer resides here. Don't you get it?" The old man looked at the Marine and said, "Oh, I understand. I just love hearing it."
The Marine snapped to attention and said, "See you tomorrow, Sir."

There's always the "trump resigns, Pence takes over and pardons him" get out of jail card I guess Pence desperately wants to avoid this scenario. As soon as he has presided over the electoral vote tabulation on 6th January he is heading overseas for a visit to Bahrain, Israel and Poland. This is scheduled to last a week but his people have said it might be longer. The assumption is that he will stay as far a way from Trump as possible to avoid having to have a conversation about this. If only he hadn't have had that pesky vaccine, one less excuse for distancing

I think this is the first time President Trump has told people to show up to a protest. He's mentioned #StoptheSteal rallies before and he's thanked people for going there but this is the first time he's mentioned a rally some time in advance and that he's specifically instructed his supporters to attend. The "will be wild" comment suggests it could be an interesting day. I would love to see a breakdown from anybody rational as to what "Statistically impossible to have lost the 2020 Election" means. I suspect Trump doesn't even know what it means let alone being able to explain it. But I'm sure he believes he has all the statistics, literally the best statistics

This thread is beyond belief. Here’s the bit where Trump ponders aloud deploying the troops to stop the result being implemented... "During the meeting, the president asked about Flynn’s suggestion of deploying the military, those briefed said. That was also shot down."
I hope that's just an unfortunate choice of phrase.

If Democrats win the Georgia runoffs it means a 50/50 Senate to add to Biden and Trump both winning 25 states.

If "cross the rubicon" in this context, means declaring Martial Law (?), then using the hashtags #Liberty & #Freedom can only be described as 'peak irony'!!

The Trump campaign has also filed another lawsuit with the US Supreme Court. It asks the court to overrule three decisions made by the PA Supreme Court, invalidate the election in PA and direct the PA legislature to appoint another slate of electors.
Chances of the US Supreme Court agreeing to hear this case is pretty much zero. They might not even discuss the matter as the Justices are not due to meet again until 8th January.

Mitch McConnell has today said that if the GOP retain control of the Senate he will allow all of Biden's cabinet nominees a vote on the Senate Floor saying
"They aren’t all going to pass on a voice vote, and they aren’t all going to make it, but I will put them on the floor"
He also added that he would treat Biden
"a hell of a lot better than Chuck Schumer ever treated Donald Trump."

I forgot to add The Wolverine State for Michigan, The Hawkeye State for Iowa, The Peach State for Georgia, The Buckeye State for Ohio and The Bluegrass State for Kentucky. Alabama doesn’t have an official nickname but is usually The Yellowhammer State or The Cotton State.
