I thought Davıd Boothroyd had done a profile of the Cities of London & Westminster

I've written it in my head several times but never down here, so I'm worried you have had access to my brainwaves.
Barnaby did write one but it disappeared with the rest of his posts.

I could possibly have a go at Bromley & Chislehurst, as it's next door to me. I've not been on this site all that long, and certainly don't have the in-depth knowledge that other contributors do. Therefore, if someone could point me in the direction of items to cover or an ideal profile, then that'll give me a bit of a template to start from.

Therefore, if someone could point me in the direction of items to cover or an ideal profile, then that'll give me a bit of a template to start from. Personally I include a description of where the seat is; some history to give a feel for the place, especially around whether it has or had any major industry; age, education, ethnicity and country of birth statistics to get a handle on how liberal/conservative a place is; economic statistics such as employment by category and industry, deprivation, and housing tenure to give a demographic guide to how left or right wing it is; my own impressions of its ideological nature where I have them; a breakdown of each party's strengths based on my own knowledge and local election results; and the political history of the constituency

This is the list as at mid-July. I will edit it if and when new profiles appear ... Croydon C is inadequate Croydon N is inadequate I wouldn't have bothered doing them if I realised that they weren't going to be appreciated

I could do the Bexley entries, as it's where I'm from, although it's quite a long while since I lived there, especially as someone else has said they'll do the Wolverhampton seats

I doubt I am the only one who instinctively thinks this is a thread for particularly good examples of the genre

I doubt I am the only one who instinctively thinks this is a thread for particularly good examples of the genre This seems to be an example of where dual meanings lead to cognitive dissonance. There are quite a few other examples in English. In this case “standing out” has a primary meaning that seems to differ between readers.

Yes, I wasn't sure whether the ambiguity of the post from Crimson King was deliberate or accidental, but as you say there is an inbuilt ambiguity in the thread title anyway.

By writing this post I'm committing myself to creating an entry for Lewisham West & Penge. I started writing a profile but wasn't happy with where it got to. It needs a bit more research and a rewrite but my intention is to get there.

This is the list as at mid-July. I will edit it if and when new profiles appear (a) Seats never done and no thread Bexley & Sidcup Bexleyheath & Crayford Erith & Thamesmead Greenwich & Woolwich Lewisham E Croydon South Dulwich & W Norwood Vauxhall Carshalton & Wallington Westminster N (b) Seats done by Barnaby Marder (with a thread but profiles deleted) Kingston & Surbiton Ealing N Ealing C & Acton Ealing Southall Hammersmith City & Westminster S I thought somebody was going to recover the text of Barnaby's posts but if that isn't happening I may well do the Ealing seats which I had been minded to do already before he extended his sphere of influence to that area. I thought he had also done the Hounslow seats, which I could also do.

It was done, but the creator then deleted it along with all their other posts.

Yes the Putney thread has disappeared. I’ve added it to the list, but no-one has done a new London profile for months. Have any other threads disappeared? I don’t remember who did the original Putney profile.

I don’t remember who did the original Putney profile. Tooting has also gone, and Feltham & Heston. There may be more - I’ve not done a full check. I don’t think it’s Barnaby because I constructed my original list after his deletions.

I'm sure Barnaby did do Feltham & Heston as I remember having a Yalta stlye conference with him in which we discussed our relative spheres of influence in parts of Middlesex and we decided Hounslow would be part of his sphere - I even remember reading his thread on the subject

Hornsey & Wood Green (the constituency I live in) is missing so it would be good if someone can profile it.
