I'll have a go at writing something for Croydon South, although it doesn't strike me as one that will make particularly interesting reading (unless my research throws up anything surprising, it's not a constituency I know too well).

Funny you should say that, I've just been reading about Selsdon Man (Saturday evenings aren't what they used to be!) I'll definitely give T&J a mention. Although there's less change in this part of London, I don't think it would be based set around Purley if it was filmed today. |

I took the liberty of doing this seat, as I live next door and know it well. It could do with some statty data stuff though.

I was convinced they lived in Surbiton, but I'm probably confusing them with characters from some other sitcom I couldn't stand to watch.

The Good Life was set in Surbiton but presumably you are thinking of something else Terry and June was set in Purley, but the location is not always where the series was filmed. The Good Life was filmed at Kewferry Road in Northwood. |

That was probably the one.
I really couldn't stand those kinds of sitcoms, tbh. Just smacks of lazy writing, tortuous cliches and naff stereotypes. 'Surbiton' even sounds like 'Suburban' FFS.
Still, most of the people involved are dead now, I suppose. They can't mildly irritate me any more.

I do normally spot them, but because you’ve been adding demographics to all the entries, I’m not paying attention to any where you are the latest poster, or indeed where there are a number of previous posts. Barnaby did a lot of London seats, and when I compiled the original list of missing profiles I failed to spot some for similar reasons. It might be useful therefore to alert me if you do a profile for a seat where the original was deleted, and there is a live thread. Apart from anything else I will want to read it. |
