Even without Rory Stewart there are as many as eight "others" in this Mayoral race even though the actual election is almost nine months away. As for the Liberal Democrats' new Mayor of London candidate, who is it likely to be?

Whilst the VI figures are little changed in this poll, the same isn't true of certain other indicators. Johnson's lead over Starmer as "best PM" is down to 41-35, compared to 47-33 last week. Starmer's net personal rating is up 3 to plus 19, Johnson's down 7 to plus 2.

The tables are fascinating. A plurality now view the incumbents as incompetent. Thus the message from Labour.

Just musing why the opinion poll threads start with the oldest and you have to go to the last posts to see most recent polls, when it's the other way round for council by-elections? One wonders why the Admin can't change this round so we get the most recent polling in the first posts? (Did think of messaging them but the instructions in the message centre are way too confusing!)

Not so much still water as a gentle swell. Could be the eye of the storm!

Why? Most others seem quite happy with the way things are.

Why? Most others seem quite happy with the way things are. I'm not even sure what point MG is trying to make. If you click on the 'new' label then it automatically takes it to posts after you last looked at that thread so what's the problem?

I've occasionally found that it doesn't, but only for threads that I haven't looked at in a long time. I assume that the forum software only stores that information for something like six months. But there aren't that many threads where that's relevant.
