I’ll update the lists I did a couple of months ago about what’s missing, and put them on the relevant sub forums. I’ll also do some of the missing West Midlands seats. Since there’s nothing else to do I’ll drive round Greater Birmingham (as I really need to see seats before I write a profile) and pick up firstly South Staffs, and then Stafford, Cannock, Lichfield, Tamworth, North Warks, Nuneaton, Rugby, and Daventry. But this will take a while. I’ve also promised to do new profiles for the Brighton seats deleted by Barnaby.
After that I’ll think about it. Wyre Forest and Bosworth are also in reach.

I've done all the Black Country except for Wolverhampton. I don't really know the Wolverhampton seats that well compared to the others, but I will give them a go (my wife teaches in Tettenhall, so I know that area a bit). Been back in to school a bit more often the least few weeks, but will try and get round to finishing them off

My intention is to do the other Edinburgh seats eventually. Then perhaps the other Lothian seats and the Fife seats if nobody else has by then.

It has. I think most people have done the seats that they are confident with. How many constituencies have we an entry for? I have been intending to start on the rest of Devon, where I don’t think we have anyone with very close local ties. 416 threads, but some of those are Barnaby's. I "know" him on Facebook so I was going to message him to see if we could get them back but I ever got round to it for a variety of reasons. I was think of attempting Devon W & Torridge because I know the area around Appledore and Bideford relatively well, but I know less than nothing about any of the rest of the seat. If it helps I will do some that I'm less familiar with but can research, although I was waiting to see if someone else would do them from local knowledge. I can reach him if needed.

The idea was to ask him politely if he has a copy of his profiles (which he probably has since he wrote them off line), and if so if he could email them to someone (like you) who could reload them. I would be grateful if you would ask....

I can reach him if needed. I can as well, but I'm waiting a bit because of something he posted Do we even want to ask him? He clearly wants nothing to do with this forum having deleted his accounts and all his posts so why should we want him to be part of this project?

He was seriously offended by the post in question and it's totally his choice to leave the forum because of the post.Doesn't mean he hates everyone on the forum.

I notice that some of the profiles are described as "light" or "inadequate". Are we going to add details to these to bring them up to scratch? If so are we going to ask the original writers to add to their posts or get others to do it?

I may finally be able to start my promised profiles soon.
Am pretty confident about most of the stuff required but not so hot on the demographic stats - can anybody provide a convenient look up page for them?

Am pretty confident about most of the stuff required but not so hot on the demographic stats - can anybody provide a convenient look up page for them? Depends on the level of detail you want. This page has links to demographic profiles of every constituency, but doesn't include any more local data. For that you'll want to use Boundary Assistant, or possibly Datashine*. * I've set it to display levels of deprivation (according to the Census) in Cumbria, since I believe this is where you planned to write about. But you can change it to display most variables for anywhere in the UK, at ward or street level.

The other source is NOMIS which is simple to use and gives you spreadsheets as output. Like datashine it’s a census analysis tool. There’s also the index of multiple deprivation.

So that is Cumbria done, not planning to do any more profiles at the moment but might contribute a few if things become desperate
