Busy the next few days but hope to take up Durham afterwards. Careful! look what happened to the last guy who had that plan.

London Region at 27/5/20 Ealing N Hammersmith City & Westminster S Westminster N think Pete will do Ealing North. I'm happy to do Hammersmith unless he does it first. I would also do a good job at the Westminster seats and Ealing N if necessary It would be best if Davıd Boothroyd did the Westminster seats. Perhaps he would engage in this?

West Midlands Region at 27/5/20 WarwickshireWarwickshire N Nuneaton Rugby West MidlandsWolverhampton NE Wolverhampton SW Wolverhampton SE Dudley N Dudley S Stourbridge WorcestershireWyre Forest Worcester Redditch Mid Worcestershire HerefordshireNorth Herefordshire is a bit lightShropshireTelford Wrekin StaffordshireTamworth Lichfield Cannock Chase Staffordshire S Stafford Stone I'll try and work my way through the other West Mids seats, though I know them less well than the ones I've already done. I only get one or two a week done though due to work for school. At a push, I could then have a go at the LB of Bexley seats, as it's where I grew up, if no one else has done them by then.

I suppose I could have a go at Redditch and Mid Worcestershire, which are nearby. Once the sun goes in, I could take the car out and go and have a drive round Droitwich and Redditch to get a feel of the towns. Cummings has confirmed that I won't be breaking any rules. This is the minimum requirement for me to do seats I don’t know - I must get a sense of what they look like before interpreting the statistics. And I guess the same would apply to the north Warwickshire seats, if there really isn’t anyone else. I’m sure greenchristian could do a better job than me.

Of the remaining Warwickshire seats, I've only very briefly spent time in North Warwickshire, have barely spent any time in Rugby, and have only really been to an unrepresentative part of Nuneaton. So my personal knowledge is far worse than for any of the South Warwickshire seats, despite me being closer to them geographically.
I might pick up Colchester from Eastern region, though. Even if my personal knowlege of said town is well out of date.

I went to Uni in Colchester....30+ years ago! So I'm not sure if your knowledge is more up to date than mine. Maybe you make a start and I will add/edit anything as appropriate? Last time I was even there was 28 years ago, so not ideal!

I left permanently in 1999, just after finishing University (having gradually got more attached to Coventry than Colchester over the previous three years). My parents and siblings still live there, I visit a couple of times a year, and usually return home with a Lib Dem leaflet from Mile End.So I'm probably more up-to-date that you are there.

Greater ManchesterBolton SE Manchester Withington needs improvementManchester Gorton Oldham W & Royton Oldham E & Saddleworth Ashton under Lyne Denton & Reddish Hazel Grove Wythenshawe & Sale E I'm not sure why but I have a feeling Denton and Reddish will be one of the last ones to be bagsied, there is very little remarkable about it, for better or worse. Previous 'constituency profiles' of it have also been much briefer than for other places. I agree Withington is on the brief side, though I did add a few sentences to it, I think the essence of the seat has been captured but can be extended a bit - perhaps more on the less salubrious Burnage/'Old Moat' areas which are usually overshadowed by the uber-middle-class parts. I'm sure an elections expert on here must be very familiar with Bolton SE as I've seen it as a profile picture many times. Brain is fried so I can't think who it is but I'm sure you know what I mean. I've been spending quite some time walking through South Cambridgeshire recently so could give it a try as I'm getting a better feel for the area - particularly the 'Greater Cambridge' area where the population is booming with identikit apartments, but not sure if I know enough about all the villages so may end up missing a notable one! I'm sure all of them have some interesting historical facts behind them, but after a while I have to say many of them do begin to look the same. Broxtowe - again, I'm only familiar with Beeston and know someone from Stapleford. Then again what else is there to it I guess? I know less about Kimberley but heard there are mansions there. I hope that whoever does it, if it doesn't boil down to me, mentions the excellent Attenborough Nature Reserve - named after the eponymous village, not the great naturalist, though he happened to open the visitor's centre there!

If all else fails, I'm sure we can come up with a few paragraphs on the very frequent transport links between Denton and Reddish!

Just putting this out there: Given the very depressing recent events surrounding COVID-19 and disorder in the streets, I have never felt so appreciative of the fact we have this subforum as I am today. In the absence of any elections, what a respite it is to read the excellent profiles various contributors have posted, as well as interesting electoral facts; that is what this forum is - and should be - all about.

I know one. Register with the British Newspaper Archive and research some pre-1973 local election results. Help the Elections Centre to add new yearbooks for the pre-reform years.

I do like how, after all the rough and tumble of General Discussion, we all come here and get on with things (and each other.)
