My college roommate was on Buckley Town Council for a while; he would have been somewhat more forthright.

Baroness Fox of Buckley was supported at her introduction by Lord Glasman (Blue Labour) and Baroness Wolf of Dulwich (Non-Aff, formerly XB - a sort of defection we all missed in January!!)
I imagine she might be a bit more active in the Lords than either of these two!
The other intro today was Veronica Wadley, another of Johnson's London cronies, who will now be known to the world as Baroness Fleet.

That's Jo Johnson. I'm afraid you're not getting the snooker player, but the smarter younger brother of Britain's worst Prime Minister.

Whoops! (Amended). And I am someone who spent decades telling people to spell Jo Grimond! The official papers call Johnson Joseph.
Hoey is of course Kate Hoey, the last of the three pro-Brexit ex-Labour rebels who Johnson shunted in as "Non-affiliated" following the example of John Mann. It will be interesting to see how they vote on non-Brexitty things.

The answer to this one is that Brownlow North would have automatically become a Lord Spiritual on confirmation as Bishop of Lichfield and Coventry in 1771. Predates the Bishopric of Manchester Act 1847 so we don't need to work out any seniority level.

The fact that in the last 11 years we have three realistic contenders for the title of worst in the last century and possibly worst ever is depressing in the extreme. There is no doubt in my mind whatsoever that the current Cabinet is the absolute lowest of the low of all Cabinets and to say it's scraping the barrel is a disservice to barrel scrapings.

How long before Hoey joins the DUP? What is her religious affiliation? I believe she's some sort of Protestant, possibly Presbyterian. This put her at odds with Labour policy on NI quite a while back when the party was much more favourable to Irish reunification than it currently is (this being pre the Good Friday agreement).
