Two new peers were introduced today: Lord Darroch of Kew, Lord Reed of Allermuir. Both non-political of some kind.

What is the exact difference between crossbench and non-aligned? I seem to recall that XB peers act as a group but can't remember the exact details.

The Crossbench Peers have an office and an elected Convener to look after their interests as a group (but not set any policy), and they coordinate briefings on upcoming business. Non-aligned peers don't have access to these facilities.

I assume Carter and Hallett would have been introduced had the GE not intervened.

Today the following affirmed or took the oath:
Chelmsford, Bp. Chadlington, L. Prescott, L.
The latter looked to have recovered physically from his stroke but to be experiencing aphasia.

Blimey, so Archole has the nerve to turn up, does he? Hasn’t voted, spoken (or claimed expenses) for years. He could take a leave of absence, I don’t think he’s waiting to be rehabilitated though. Maybe he’s just keeping an eye out for a moment to shine.
