“Mid Galloway and Wigtown West” is a strong contender for the list of stupid and misleading ward names considering it consists of EAST Wigtownshire + a bit of western Kirkcudbrightshire! Should have just been called “Mid Galloway” instead of amalgamating the names of the two predecessor wards.

Sorry if the answer is elsewhere bu why four by elections in Brent in the first place? Is this a London record? Points to the council being a rather unhappy ship.

Alperton - councillor, a solicitor, resigned after a court found he’d spent the bequest of a lady who’s will he was Executor on buying a house for himself rather than giving it to the charity stipulated in the will. Barnhill - no official reason, but the resigning councillors were a couple, one of whom has long term serious health issues, which may have deteriorated. Wembley C - councillor about to become a father again, allegedly found it impossible to juggle family, work and council commitments so has given up the latter. |

I find it difficult to keep up with everything on this forum. This is the first time Ive noticed that there were 3 by-elections in the Brent North constituency a few weeks ago. |
