Yes, sadly most Wiltshire by-elections now seem to be just Con v Lib Dem contests. Definitely a weak area for both us and Labour.

Also, the Flintshire ward seems to have a very poor history of competing parties.

The Flintshire ward seems to be the first by election that the Conservatives haven’t contested for quite a while.

It does seem odd. However it's not a winnable ward for Labour and the Independent is ex-Green - I wonder if there has been an informal arrangement?
It could just be a cockup?

Certainly the prediction competitors here are divided - out of the 14 taking part, 10 have it down as a Tory gain from Labour.

The other 4 have it down as a Lib Dem gain! Not a single one goes for a Labour hold.

That probably owes something to the LD gain from the Tories in July in a rather different part of Daventry.
