EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE UA; Bridlington North (Con died): Current Council: Con 48; LD 8; Ind 7; Non-aligned 1; 1 vacancy Where has that Council composition data come from? The Yorkshire Party gained two Bridlington South seats on East Riding last month, so I'm not sure what those figures could relate to!

I think I probably jumped from one lot of Indys to the other when totting up the totals on the council website and inadvertently missed out the Yorkshire Party. Sorry- will double check the figures and update this evening. EDIT: Now amended.

Can't help but think that Herefordshire Council have been very petty in not allowing the councillor not to work her notice - and wasting public money in consequence by causing an unnecessary by-election

I'm getting slightly nostalgic because when we were children in the 1970s we had lots of family holidays in Bridlington. I have fond memories of the rock pools on the beach at Flamborough Head, the lighthouse, the long sandy beaches, and the harbour with tourist trips out on ships. The holiday home we had was in North Back Lane, which is just outside BN ward.

But I think I'm the only forum member who has had a relative stand for election in Bridlington.

This guy thinks it is, and he's Director of Corporate Resources for East Riding Council: So if he's wrong that would be worrying....but presumably not the easiest of counts, with 8 candidates maybe all over the place (we were anyway)

Lib Dem GAIN Bridlington North (East Riding) so my prediction of LD 5% may be a bit out then....not that I mind getting the prediction wrong if its like this.

Does this mean Lib Dems win all by-elections starting “Br”? Just wondering for 3 weeks time.....
