Yesterday, when 82.1% had been counted in Macquarrie, Lab were on 50.4%. This morning with 84% in, Labour's share has reduced to 50.2%. By my calculations that is rounded up slightly.

What are they doing now? Opening one envelope every 10-minutes, straightening it out, ironing it, counting it, having a cup of tea and then opening the next envelope?

The AEC receives postal votes for 13 days, so 31 May is the cut-off. What I’m guessing are the final figures for today as it’s 9pm in Canberra for Macquarie are Liberals ahead by exactly 50 votes, 44,969 to 44,919 with 86.6% counted.

Also don't forget it takes time to transport declaration votes from other constituencies to the relevant counting centre.

I don’t know how fallible he is, but pollbludger has taken it off his at risk list and given Labor an 83% chance of retaining it.

He may well be correct. It seems a stretch for the Liberals to go that much further, particularly because the latest figures on ABC website still give Labour
50.5% but now on 78.7% counted

The New South Wales senate ballot was massive again. Here's Tony Abbott being given his Reps (green) and Senate (white) papers:

Macquarie Liberal lead has now risen to 251 on 87.1% counted. Seems to be moving inexorably into the Liberal column.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who counts wrongly 😉 it’s 151 according to the AEC tallyroom.aec.gov.au/HouseDivisionPage-24310-133.htmPollbludger is however now making the Liberals 58-42 favourites.

Apologies all round and thank you to Tim. It is 151 according to ABC as well. Clearly am having bad day when it comes to my maths-and a few other things which are not relevant to this site!
