Of the 3 Welsh by elections coming up, the most interesting one seems to be Resolven (Neath Port Talbot).
The Morfa Nefyn (Gwynedd) result last time had Plaid on 66% and Llais Gwynedd on 33%. If Llais stand I would expect a similar result again. But I can also see this one being uncontested.
The Llanbardan Fawr Sulien (Ceredigion) result also saw Plaid winning about 66% of the vote but with the remaining vote going 4 ways. Expect the same this time around.
But Resolven should be a lot more open - Last time Labour won with around 40% of the vote, above an Independent on 35% and Plaid on 25%. I dont know if the Independent will run again - but having the vote on the same day as Euro Elections should see his vote squeezed by the big parties. Recent polls show Plaid advancing on Labour and I expect this to be a very close three way fight...... I will hold off on a prediction until list of candidates is fnalised

We dont get too many Welsh by-elections... now 4 together.... the Pelenna one looks very interesting - the Independent beat Plaid by only one vote last time with another independent only 20 votes behind...a very close three way fight. I think this could be a Plaid gain but again it depends on who else stands.

Interesting.....in case anyone was wondering, Rhondda ward is not in Rhondda. But in Pontypridd. If nobody was wondering...why not?
