Yes, SPS&GPS are infamous for being quite identical (although they have temporarily also diverged). 2015 i posted something on exactly this issue, also later - still, i couldn't find it now, sorry! As the BlueCollars - and we should never paint CH as an mountain-idyll added by some banks, it has had its impressive industry - have not supported SPS as much as would be normal in other countries (~10% less), the Socialists have for decades been strongly the party of left-wing teachers and students. (As a result being in theory very radical - SPS wants to abolish capitalism in its PartyProgramme! -, but always encountered by its federal®ional ministers and StändeRäte, who have to appeal to the mid, too. Another consequence is, that SPS has survived the shift of the WorkingClass to the right very well: Contrary to the past their ~20% is not any longer worse, than what PS, PD, SPD, SPĂ get). The GPS is just a younger and more trendy version of SPS. |

PolitGeographer (univ.Zurich) Herrmann came out, what many have already suspected: That SVP lost strongly in early summer, but has recovered, because of gaining FDP-voters unpleased by their party's shift towards greenism: www.srf.ch/news/schweiz/wahlen-2019/klimafrage-spaltet-die-waehler-liberaler-ueberdruss-und-linke-euphorieAs soon as climate-costs will become concrete, the divide in population will probably deepen and lead to a ReAlignment: SVP, presently already governing the Finance- and EconomyDepartments, could take over FDP's BigBusiness-wing, while losing BlueCollars and ChristianConservatives to AbStention or small parties (SD; EDU). Then FDP would be in the mid like CVP and GLP (resulting in a new unity-party?). |
