With 92.5% counted, Sandu now leads 50.18% to 49.82%. Almost everything left to count is overseas - there are five precincts left in Moldova itself, three of which are in Chisinau.

Saw a picture of an endless carQueue - TransNistrians trying to vote. So some attempt was made by the Kremlin (or at least its allies).

Sandu wins by effectively disenfranchising Moldovans living in Russia.
In contrast to Georgia, no complaints from the EU, on the contrary. Hypocritical arseholes.

Whatever your opinions on Moldova (sounds dodgy to me too, though I can’t pretend that I’m across the issue), equating it with the clearly fraudulent elections in Georgia is ridiculous. It sounds far more like Republican states in the US providing only one vote drop off point per county, regardless of population.

Yes, any comParison is indeed "ridiculous" - because it's in Moldova not even hidden. And was - contrary to Georgia - decisive (at least in the referendum).

Let's be clear, what decided the recent EU referendum was a significant number of "pro-Russia" voters not turning out - because influential figures in their community had told them not to vote in a "rigged" contest. This will never stop being amusing.
