Sefton, Litherland (2027). Paul Tweed, Labour to no description. Well it appears that this one was, ahem, not voluntary at all.

Knowing Tower Hamlets, in a couple of weeks he will be announced as a Reform Party Councillor in a photo call with Richard Tice.

He must be hoping for a sentence of under six months (immediate custodial, or suspended), which is the threshold for disqualification from office. And (if so) must be planning on staying a councillor, despite the guilty plea. Baffling.

And (if so) must be planning on staying a councillor, despite the guilty plea. Baffling. Given the sentencing guidelines which saw Huw Edwards getting a 6 month suspended sentence for much larger quantities of illegal images it would be very unlikely he gets longer. Although I wouldn't rate his reelection chances regardless.

Aberdeenshire, Turriff & District (2027). Alastair Forsyth, SNP to Independent. Flintshire, Buckley: Mountain (2027). Carol Ellis, Independent to Non Aligned. Flintshire, Broughton South (2027). Chrissy Gee, Independent to Non Aligned. Flintshire, Connah's Quay: Golftyn (2027). Andy Hughes, Independent to Non Aligned. Forest of Dean, Lydney East (2027). James Bevan, Independent to Conservative. Re the Flintshire ones, what’s the difference between Independent and Non-Aligned in this context? Is/was it a group of Independents? You'll be pleased to learn that we now also have:
Flintshire, Connah's Quay: Golftyn (2027). David Richardson, Non Aligned to Independent - Unattached

Tower Hamlets - never a dull moment. This is getting out of hand. Now there are two of them! Anyone know what's going on there? Labour may gain it in 2026. It's way too early of course. Still, Aspire may hit the buffers. I've heard bad things about TH. The council administration not the area.

In, out, shake it all about. The website has now reallocated even more councillors between Independent, Independent (Unattached), True Independents, and Non Aligned. I'm not sure whether whoever updates the website knows which is which. Perhaps the councillors don't either. I'm not going to keep reporting them unless an actual party defection pops up. But for the record the council is now: 29 Labour, 13 Independent, 6 Eagle, 6 True Independents, 5 Flintshire People's Voice, 3 Independent (Unattached), 3 Liberal Democrats, 1 Conservative, 1 Non Aligned.
Aberdeenshire, Troup (2027). Mark Findlater, Conservative to Independent.
