Sunderland, Washington West (2028). James Warne, Labour to Independent. Has this one been confirmed, given that they were elected as Labour just last month? Yes.

Devon, Exwick & St Thomas (2025). Rob Hannaford, Independent (elected as Labour) to Liberal Democrat. First elected to Exeter City Council as a Lib Dem in 2008. Defected to Labour in June 2010 over the coalition, and was re-elected to the city council 3 times as a Labour candidate, before leaving earlier this year as he didn't get on with the local party. He failed to get re-elected to the city council this year as an independent.

(Was formerly the Lib Dem councillor for the same ward, before resigning over the Coalition - as ever, the reasons for resigning might not be quite this simple - to quote REO Speedwagon "heard it from a friend, who heard it from a friend, who heard it from another", I got it from Agnes She got it from Jim We all agree it must have been Louise gave it to him...

West Sussex - Arundel and Courtwick (2025). Gary Markwell Conservative to Labour endorsing (it’s not quite clear if he’s actually joined the party) His statement reads that he's endorsing the local Labour candidate rather than the party as a whole, so would be surprised if he was joining...

Does anyone know the circumstances of Bobby Bains? I know when he was first selected in 2022 there was some controversy as a long standing Tory councillor was deselected for him (but got elected elsewhere), and I don't think he's part of any Mike Bird fan club

Sabina Akhtar (Stepney Green, Tower Hamlets), Labour to Independent: Processing and then deporting illegal immigrants is offensive? What’s happened, it seems, is that Starmer’s remarks along those lines were carefully edited by those assisting some of the independents, who have been circulating the resulting video. Starmer seems to have been victim of a number of these deliberately misleading scams.

As of yesterday, Michael Cashman is listed as "non-affiliated" on the Lords website. members.parliament.uk/member/4340/careerI would presume this is connected to his misogynistic attack upon the marvellous Rosie Duffield on the anniversary of Jo Cox's murder. Gay man who thinks the feelings of gay men are more improtant than the safety of women. Who da thunk it

Sabina Akhtar (Stepney Green, Tower Hamlets), Labour to Independent: I missed that. I feel broadly positive about Bangladesh. The failed state that raped and murdered their way through Bangladesh 50 years ago, not so much. I think Starmer (and everyone else) should be far ruder about Pakistan

Sabina Akhtar (Stepney Green, Tower Hamlets), Labour to Independent: Processing and then deporting illegal immigrants is offensive? Not to most of us, but the problem is no one has tried it yet which is a main reason one party faces complete meltdown.

Sabina Akhtar (Stepney Green, Tower Hamlets), Labour to Independent: I saw Andrew Feinstein's team leafleting yesterday and imagine some on his team will capitalise on this in heavily Muslim areas as well as other independents.
