I think those four are all among the seven whose defection as a group was previously noted - there are no additional moves.

After the General Election is over how many of those who defected from the Labour Party will apply to rejoin when their term of office ends and they are up for election? Will they want the Labour Party to pay thier election expenses or will they expect to be readmitted, placed on the panel of candidates and think that they can carry on as usual?

Sam Ammar certainly won't be allowed to rejoin for years as she is actually standing against Labour in the general election.

Sam Ammar certainly won't be allowed to rejoin for years as she is actually standing against Labour in the general election. And? She has enough of Labour. I resigned in 2020 and wouldn't join again - I voted 2017 and 2019, and generally liked the 2017 manifesto, although the 2019 was too confused. But right at the moment I don't feel the same - it's just too right wing. It's better than the Tories, but that's about it.

And if you stand against Labour then you are automatically ineligible to rejoin for the following 5 years. How you personally feel about the policy direction of Labour isn't relevant here.

I really don't care. Policy direction, maybe, ineligible, forget it. This why I don't like Labour ...

I'd have thought that Labour's support for the recognition of a state of Palestine might at least attract you a bit. I think that you're hating on a caricature of Labour rather than what Labour's actual policies are.

I can understand what many red roomers agree (plenty here!) but for me I preferred Corbyn's manifesto - I will have a look again.

Robin Harper, former leader of the Scottish Greens, Independent to Labour. Not exactly a surprise, he's been endorsing Murray/Labour and appearing on their leaflets since the moment he left the Greens.

This rule can be and has been waived in the past, maybe not in this case though. I'm not aware that it has been in the recent past. I know that Luciana Berger has rejoined the Labour Party, but it was not until 3 years had elapsed since the 2019 election, which is what the rules stipulate. And few anti-Labour candidates in that election have elicited the sympathy that she has, at least amongst those of us who have some human empathy re the appalling racism she faced. Mike Gapes rejoined more recently than that.

I'd have thought that Labour's support for the recognition of a state of Palestine I missed that. Obviously, it puts me off.

He's complained about the party becoming a political party rather than a campaign group. A lesson to anyone setting up a political party as a campaign group, perhaps!!
