Pleased to see that despite the boundaries being identical there is no double-hatting by Liberals or Conservatives in south Cumbria ... Though the by-elections were caused by the death of a two-hatted Lib Dem councillor, of course. And actually, if the Lib Dem candidate wins in the county election, he will be a two-hat man, as he's already on the district council.

And the local MP was a district councillor for Milnthorpe for three years after going to Westminster, then later President of the party, then leader and has usually been on the party's front bench except for that time when he resigned in protest at the party's deviousness on referendums on the EU.
Double-hatting is not confined to publicly elected positions.

No, I'll leave that to the Lib Dems.
Just a general observation that multiple posts and distractions don't just come from public elections or the private sector.

Turnout in Arnside and Milnthorpe 44.22%. Apparently only just commencing actual counting, so with Kent Estuary as well it could be a late one.

Be interesting to see how many blanks there are - some voters may assume they can only vote on one paper.

Only a net five votes difference between the district and county elections.
This is one of those times when I wish a combined ballot paper was used, with an additional information count to show combinations of votes.
