The definition of "mild turbulence" vs harm is rather vague. Which would a 4% smaller economy be?
I think I'll find it easier to demonstrate the chimera of a European superstate...!

We will never know the impact of Brexit because governments worldwide have Covided the economies since then, everything in our economy is now due to both Covid and Brexit intertwining, plus other random bits and pieces, it is impossible to unravel exactly what has cause what anymore.

And how to define “economic trauma” then? I’d say that sounds more like deep recession, huge unemployment spike, no? Whereas 4% , when meaning a comparative reduction in growth is, well, relatively mild.

Tbh if finso says it happened I am inclined to trust him. Can't recall precise details of posts or posters but the "vibe" that some short term pain might ultimately be "worth it" was quite widespread around referendum time. Which is worlds apart from finso's outrageous smear that we were supposedly "positively welcoming the possibility of a couple of years of economic trauma". Generally speaking, finso is definitely one of the more rational and cool-headed on your side but on this point he's totally wrong.

Whereas 4% , when meaning a comparative reduction in growth is, well, relatively mild. I’ve never used a term like “trauma”. My expectation was always that we’d lose about 4% from our economy, perhaps slightly more, by 2030. That was unacceptable to me particularly because the supposed “sovereignty” gains were modest or even illusory. I appreciate that some were prepared to make that trade. But it is a trade involving harm to some businesses and fewer jobs than there would have been. “Mild turbulence” to a disengaged observer can be, and has been, closed doors in a small business. I don’t think anyone revels in these things. But it’s right that they should be owned as a consequence of a political choice.

I didn´t meet any Brexiteer who welcomed economic problems. I actually think it was ...and is... the Remainers who wished for economic damage so they could say they were right.

I would say that some Brexiteers delight in economic problems in the EU. (which generally lead to economic problems here in the UK, since whether in or out, world economies are intertwined).

There may be a tiny minority, though loud. Probably balancing the twerp rejoiners who wish the economy in the UK ill. Nearly always twerps on both sides when it comes to any argument.

Especially as we are no longer subject to the onerous European Twerp regulations.

I did hear an awful lot about sunlit uplands and how everything was going to be cheaper including food, shoes and gas prices. On those 3 counts alone I can safely say that if isn't cheaper and won't be cheaper.

You need to see social media where the Remainers celebrate any apparent economic damage they can try to link to Brexit. See, for example, shortages of lorry drivers
