Saxony's state election
Infratest projection:
^This is pretty much an exit poll, aye?
CDU - 39% LINKE - 19% SPD - 12.5% AfD - 10% GRN - 6% NPD - 5% FDP - 3.5%
Seriously. What is up with the FDP?

Although the CDU are the lead party it is their worst ever result in Saxony.

Seriously. What is up with the FDP? The electorate has realised that they're the worst.

Narrow escapes for the Greens and NPD, in fact a surprisingly good result for the NPD. A disaster for the FDP as expected, but this is the East so this could be rock bottom.
The victors here are AfD. Over 10% is a stonkingly good result, and exceeds the high water mark of the NPD in Saxony in 2004.

Hmm, not so sure about those narrow escapes yet. The big cities are yet to come in and the NPD look a little weak. Both ZDF and ARD are also doing an alternative seat split without the NPD. Which is CDU 59, Linke 27, SPD 18, Grüne 8, AfD 14

It seems that the pirates bubble has burst. It burst about 2 years ago to be honest. The only place where the Piraten have a chance of staying in the Landtag is Berlin.

With one Wahlkreis to come, the NPD are on 5.008% of the vote! It's squeaky-bum time.

Is it discrimination for Iain to refer to Die Linke as the SED, but not to refer to the NPD as the NSDAP?
Or is it just stupid for him to refer to Die Linke as the SED?

Die Linke are the direct legal descendant of the SED. The NPD are not the direct legal descendant of the NSDAP. Both are lower than vermin.

Especially as the PDS once attempted to sue for possession of the assets of the East German state, in their capacity as the legal heir of the SED.

OK, then the nearest lineal descendant of the NSDAP is something that has since merged into your European Liberal allies the FDP. Points to how stupid you are being.

The NPD came up with a tasteful election advert " Put on the Gas."

Your knowledge of the immediate post-war German right is somewhat lacking, although some of mergers, de-mergers and splits can be rather hard to follow. The Klingspor group, which were really trying to set up the DVP again, and ended up in a dubious alliance with groups that were trying to reform the DNVP, did not take part in the mergers that formed the DRP(1950) which, of course spawned the SRP (1952), but formed a remnant group some of which eventually joined the FDP.
